There are two big updates to report on for the United States Soccer Federation, neither of which is the dismal start the Men’s senior team is having on its road to the World Cup Finals in Rio.
First let’s look at the Men’s U-20 national team and their recent results. The Yanks defeated Haiti (2-1), Costa Rica (1-0) and then on Tuesday defeated Canada (4-2), our rivals to the north, to reach the semifinals of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. By reaching the semifinals, the USA has qualified for the U-20 World Cup in Turkey this Summer, the thirteenth trip for the USA to the U-20 World Cup finals.

If the United States can finish out the CONCACAF U-20 Championship strongly in their game against Cuba and possibly the winner of El Salvador vs Mexico, the US U-20 squad will have plenty to prove in Turkey this Summer. Either way, the up and coming quality of players that Tab Ramos has been showcasing recently should have US Soccer fans in good spirits.
The second update for US Soccer is to be announced later today. A new kit honoring the USSF’s Centennial is to be announced, and thanks to the internet the kit has allegedly been leaked already (see below).

The kit is an homage to the classic USSF logo, a simple stars and stripes badge that in my opinion is an upgrade from the current cartoon-ish US Soccer logo. If this is the actual kit to be announced today, the US should wear it as often as possible because it looks fantastic and it is important to remember how far US soccer has progressed in the last century.
As always, I leave you all with a video to celebrate this glorious game. Enjoy.
Like this article a lot. Big expectations for the US-U20s in the coming world cup!
If that video doesn’t give you chills then you don’t have a pulse!
